Welcome to Our Yadikya Golf Club

The Yadikya Golf Club is an informal club established over eleven years ago and has steadily grown in numbers and stature over the years. Currently over 40 golfers participate in this group, and at least twenty play each week. You can find the Yadikya's playing at the Altadena Golf Course every Saturday.

This web page provides an opportunity for the Yadikya's to share their successes with each other, and will allow the members to keep up to date on the weekly competitions that occur, along with each members standing as we move toward awarding the infamous Yadikya Cup at the end of each season on June 30.

This group of golfers has been known to informally plan outings to places such as Laughlin, Nevada for golf and family fun. They are going to Santa Anita Race Track as a group. They have parties together and they have enjoyed Super Bowl at Damon's Steak House together. The Yadikya's have supported charitable golf tournaments through their group participation and sometimes through donations. This site will allow members to know about coming events on the site calendar.

It is interesting to see how such an informal group can establish its own policies, practices, and group recognition without much of the turmoil that often occurs in other golfing clubs. If you ask any of the members, they will tell you that they are proud to call themselves, "YADIKYA" members.

We look forward to sharing your self description on this blog in the near future. Please send your own self censored comments to our CIO, Larry T. at larry.tash@gmail.com and you will see your self description up on our blog in the near future too.

Updating the Yadikya Golf Club for 2018

Our Yadikya Golf Club has continued to be a very strong club for a long time.  However, it has been a while since our website has been updated.  So, now we will continue to add commentary to our web site so that all of our members and the public can know, sort of, what is going on with the men of Yadikya Golf.

First, we have never acknowledged on this site that our founding member, Chuck T., is now our President Emeritus.  Having moved to the middle of California has made his life simpler and much more enjoyable.  We congratulate Chuck for making the big move.  Unfortunately, with that move, we lose a valuable member of our golf family.

Richard T. has accepted the responsibility of taking on the president's role.  Thank you Rich for taking on this task.  Our core players have stayed together for many years and continue to be what makes our Saturday morning rounds at Altadena a great social gathering for friends.  Over the years, others have left the club for a number of reasons, but new people join us and each one is welcomed with open arms.

If you are looking for social golf fun on a 9 hole course each Saturday morning come out and play with Yadikya Golf Club.  Just don't be surprised by the Yadikya rules and life style that we play and live by, at least on Saturday mornings.

Until I add content again.  Happy New Year and happy golf.

Message from the CEO Who Is Going on Injured Reserved for a While

To my Yadika buddies:

Well, once again we had another successful fund raiser tournament for Knights of Columbus.  We had five groups for this annual event to provide scholarships for deserving students.  Thanks to all the Knights and especially Rich a Tellez for helping arrange this event.  It is a lot of work, and we appreciate your effort.
I also want to let you know I will finally be having my first knee replacement surgery July 8, so I will be out of the golf scene for a few months.  After my recovery, I will have surgery to replace my other knee.  Glad I only have two.
Anyway, keep it up Yadikyas, and see you soon.
Chuck

PS if you are interested, go to YouTube and watch a live knee replacement surgery.  It really is quite amazing.  Ed Z. Has asked for pictures of my scar so I will send some along as soon as able.

To Chuck
From Yadikya Buddies

Get well soon so that you do not have to keep having these surgeries that keep you away from your friends and from golf.  Take care and we Look forward to your return very soon.

Thank You to the Altadena Golf Staff for a Great 2014

Every year we are well taken care of on Saturday mornings by the wonderful staff at the Altadena Golf Course.  During the "happiest time of the year" we thank the staff for the way we are treated and we try to make their Christmas Holiday a little bit more special.  Here is one of the pictures of our Yadikya members with some of the very special people we thanked this season.

Yadikya is a very special club because we are always enjoying ourselves with our friends, enjoying our common hobby of playing Saturday morning golf, and helping others as often and in the best ways that we can.  Giving and taking make life special.  Friendship and philanthropy are words that should be joined at the syllable because one without the other does not feel very fulfilling.

Thank you for another great year to all of our members and Happy New Year to all we are going to meet and greet this coming year of 2015.

Yadikya Honors Altadena Golf Course Staff

Thank you to our CEO, Chuck for leading us so well for so many years.  What a great letter representing all of the members thoughts and interests in playing golf.

Happy Holidays to everyone.

Re: Altadena Golf

As a short introduction, let me tell you about a little of the background of our group. I joined a group of golfers playing at Altadena when I was 36 years of age. I had never played golf before, but my wife taught with a group of teachers whose spouses played every Saturday at Altadena. These “gentlemen” invited me to join them on numerous occasions. I was playing softball at the time, but was not able to continue due to injuries. By default, I was persuaded to take up golf. Thus began a journey to meet new friends and experience the game of golf. I am now 62 years old and retired.

The original members of this group are now memories, but our group has grown and evolved over time to become what is today called; “YADIKYA”. We have been playing at Altadena for almost 30 years! From an original five members, we are now almost 35 strong. We do not have all members present every Saturday, but we usually have 12-20 play every Saturday. Our usual routine is to play nine holes, go to the restaurant/bar and eat, drink and talk. We have a great time and we have made wonderful friends through this group.

Although we have never met, we would like to complement you and your staff. Kevin and Courtney Erdman have always been true professionals, and they are to be commended for their hard work to make Altadena a great place. You are fortunate to have such hard working people on your staff. They set a tone that is welcoming and understanding. Pete, the starter, is also to be thanked for his ability to accept our needs!

The restaurant staff; Nordelia, Jackie and the cooks do a great job of putting up with our mess and making our Saturdays fun! You are truly fortunate to have staff so competent.

Finally, if there is ever anything we can do to help you continue to improve Altadena Golf, please let us know. We sincerely hope to remain dedicated friends of Altadena Golf. We would be pleased to meet you in person if the time is available.

Thank you for making Altadena Golf Course a better place!
