Yadikya 2012-2013 Season Ends

The Yadikya season goes from July 1 to June 30 each year.  Today's round was the final round of the season.  However, it was an eventful round worth sharing.  Although the temperatures were high, it did not prevent Yadikya from playing some excellent golf.

The special result today was that on the par five fifth hole, two of our players, Mike and Al, incredibly got eagle threes on this long hole.  It is rare enough that an eagle is scored on any Saturday round, but two one day and both on the same hole is amazing.  Congratulations to both Yadikya members.

In the next couple of weeks our final results for this season will be announced, and awards will be given at our annual club luncheon.

Yadikyas Support Worthwhile Charity

One again Yadikya was out in force to contribute to a good cause.  A great time was had by all and the team Abraham, Carlstrom, Shannon and Trudeau shot a fine 60 to place second (to a team of cheating bastards that were 17UNDER).

thanks to all who attended for helping out a good cause and a special YADIKYA shout out to Rich Tellez and the crew at the Knights for a job well done.  We cannot wait to go back next year.

24 Apparent Truths About Golf

How many of these apparent truths apply to you?

THESE ARE AN ASSORTMENT OF APPARENT golf truths. Can you relate to any of them in particular? Which do you consider to be laws of the golf universe?
1. Don’t buy a putter until you’ve had a chance to throw it.
2. Never try to keep more than 300 separate thoughts in your mind during your swing.
3. When your shot has to carry over a water hazard, you can either use one more club or two more balls.
4. If you’re afraid a full shot might reach the green while the foursome ahead of you is still putting out, you have two options: you can immediately shank a lay-up or you can wait until the green is clear and top a ball halfway there.
5. The less skilled the player, the more likely he or she is to share his or her ideas about the golf swing.
6. No matter how bad you are playing, it is always possible to play worse.
7. Everyone replaces his divot after a perfect approach shot.
8. A golf match is a test of your skill against your opponent’s luck.
9. It is surprisingly easy to hole a 30 foot putt. For a 10.
10. Counting on your opponents to inform you when they break a rule is like expecting them to make fun of their own haircut.
11. It’s not a gimme if you’re still away.
12. The shortest distance between any two points on a golf course is a straight line that passes directly through the center of a very large tree.
13. You can hit a two-acre fairway 10 percent of the time and a two-inch branch 90 percent of the time.
14. If you really want to get better at golf, go back and take it up at a much earlier age.
15. Since bad shots come in groups of three, a fourth bad shot is actually the beginning of the next group of three.

Yadikya Rankings Entering 2013

As we enter the half way point for our Yadikya season, here are the club rankings as of December 22, 2012.  We have a runaway leader at this point in the season, our CEO Chuck.  Of course what golf can giveth, your handicap can takethaway, so Chuck be ready for a charge from others in the club.  You can also tell that it helps to be toward the top in the rankings if you play frequently.  Other clubs try to even out the points so that being a regular player does not give an unfair advantage to others.  In Yadikya, we care more about friendship and sharing, so it makes sense for those who are out playing regularly to get benefits that come with social camaraderie   We look forward to seeing you all every week, for our relationships with each are what make this golf club different and more enjoyable than others.

We also look forward to great golf with our friends. No matter what anyone thinks about the "Yads", we are a very giving and caring group of people, who share a common enjoyment of golf, friendship, and comraderie.
